Fun Facts

We are half way through the school year and it has been a great year so far! We have some excellent volunteers this year and I love working with all of you! I appreciate all you do for the Art Masterpiece Program , the teachers appreciate all you do in the classrooms and the students appreciate you most of all for just being there. Enjoy these fun facts!

-August started out strong with an amazing 17 lessons in our first month of school. August also had the least amount of lessons for the year, which isn't unusual, in past years most teachers didn't start Art Masterpiece until September.
-September had the most lessons of any month so far, 34.
-Mrs Espinoza's 1st grade class has had the most Art Masterpiece lessons of any class, 10.
-First Graders have had more Art Masterpiece lessons than the other grades, 43.
-Our wonderful volunteers Shannon Krenz and Holly Sadlon have taught the most Art Masterpiece Lessons this year.
-Oil pastels and watercolors are the most in demand supplies this year.
-Ken Turner, Dan Bacich, Joseph Wright of Derby and Norman Rockwell are the favorite artists/lessons so far this year.
-Did you know? In addition to our normal supplies(paint, brushes, pastels, paper...) The Art Masterpiece cabinets also contain Kool-Aid and shaving cream which are used for projects consistently throughout the year.

I'm looking forward to a wonderful 2nd half of the year!
Thanks for all you do!
Tiffany

Friendly Reminders

A few friendly reminders when teaching Art Masterpiece ~ When choosing a lesson please stick to approved lessons on this blog. These have been written and approved by administration in accordance to what is currently being taught in cottages. We appreciate your cooperation with this. ~When planning a lesson, please give at least three days notice to have supplies gathered and delivered to the classroom. If you are unable to give three days notice, please email us ASAP and we will try our hardest to accommodate you in the best way possible. We have multiple classrooms doing art at the same time and do not always have the proper supplies for multiple classrooms teaching the same lesson so the sooner we know about your planned lesson, the better. ~When emailing to request supplies, please include teachers name, date and time, the supply list, and number of students in class. ~When returning supplies, please keep paper separate from anything wet like paint brushes or water cups. We h...

Welcome Back!

Welcome Back! We are super excited to be back this quarter and look forward to art being taught the remainder of the school year.  The program will begin November 4th as we are preparing our supplies and lessons for the year. Due to current conditions and all that is going on, there are a few rules that must be followed in order to keep everyone safe. Your cooperation is appreciated as we maneuver around these changes. ●When arriving to the school to teach a lesson, a face mask or shield MUST be worn at all times. ●Your temperature will be taken at the front office and your must NOT have had any recent symptoms of Covid-19 ●You must have coordinated with the teacher and your name be on the volunteer list for that day ●When choosing a date to teach, you must give at least 24 hours notice as your supplies need to be pulled and delivered. If you do not give that amount of time, feel free to still email or text me and I will try my hardest to accommodate everyone the best I can ●...

Artwork Changes

Hello Volunteers! Welcome back to the new school year! Our first month started out well, we had 19 lessons in August! That is amazing! I am looking forward to another great year with the Art Masterpiece Program! This year I will be adding a few new lessons and updating any that need to be fixed. Please let me know if any of the links aren't working or if you notice any other issues with the lessons. My main goal for this year is to make Artwork slideshows for each Artist. This will keep the links from changing, so they should always be accessible to you. As well as give us more control as to what the students view in class. I have been careful when choosing the Artwork links but from time to time these sites can change. We haven't had any accidental inappropriate viewings in classrooms but I have been contacted by volunteers or teachers a few times over the past couple years about sites that have put up an inappropriate picture. With slideshows of ...
