What have we been up to in art?

Last week I had the pleasure of teaching a "Weather Station" lesson in Mrs. Lugo's 1st grade class. The class learned all about the water cycle and got to draw their own! The neat thing is, we didn't connect it until the end so they didn't know we were drawing the water cycle until the end of the project!

How The Art Masterpiece Program Works

Hello Volunteers, I have had quite a few emails over the summer as to how the program works and don't want people to feel intimidated when making the decision to volunteer. It is a wonderful program that was written by the previous coordinator and we would like to keep it going as much as possible but need the help of our wonderful parents to do so. The program works by having a volunteer (typically a parent in their own child's classroom) go in once a month (or as often as the teacher and parent agree) and teach a short lesson followed by a coordinating art project. The lessons are all written based around what is currently being taught in cottage and must be followed as these lessons go with the curriculum. ALL supplies as well as the lessons being taught, are supplied. As a volunteer you coordinate with your child's teacher to choose the appropriate lesson, let us know as soon as possible so we can add you to the calendar and get the supplies delivered to the classr...

Welcome Back!

Welcome back Eduprize families! Hope everyone had a fun and relaxing summer. The Art Masterpiece team and Eduprize PTN are looking forward to a wonderful 2019-2020 school year with tons of fun art projects in the works.  Art will start again on August 5th with some updated lessons as well as new and updated rules. Stay tuned for those to be posted in the next week or so.  We are always seeking new volunteers to either help in the classrooms by teaching an Art Masterpiece lesson, by delivering supplies or by completing small at home projects. Please comment below (or sign up at open house) if you are interested.  Thank you for all your continued help and support of this program and we look forward to a great year! Welcome Jocelyn!

I am passing on the Art Masterpiece Position to Jocelyn. I have loved doing it but my circumstances have changed and it's not possible for me to put in that amount of time anymore.  Everything is still the same, same email, same site, same lessons you will just be dealing with Jocelyn when you send an email, she will also be the one delivering supplies to the classrooms. Thank you for being awesome volunteers! Tiffany

Fun Facts

We are half way through the school year and it has been a great year so far! We have some excellent volunteers this year and I love working with all of you! I appreciate all you do for the Art Masterpiece Program , the teachers appreciate all you do in the classrooms and the students appreciate you most of all for just being there. Enjoy these fun facts! -August started out strong with an amazing 17 lessons in our first month of school. August also had the least amount of lessons for the year, which isn't unusual, in past years most teachers didn't start Art Masterpiece until September. -September had the most lessons of any month so far, 34. -Mrs Espinoza's 1st grade class has had the most Art Masterpiece lessons of any class, 10. -First Graders have had more Art Masterpiece lessons than the other grades, 43. -Our wonderful volunteers Shannon Krenz and Holly Sadlon have taught the most Art Masterpiece Lessons this year. -Oil pastels and watercolors are t...

Artwork Changes

Hello Volunteers! Welcome back to the new school year! Our first month started out well, we had 19 lessons in August! That is amazing! I am looking forward to another great year with the Art Masterpiece Program! This year I will be adding a few new lessons and updating any that need to be fixed. Please let me know if any of the links aren't working or if you notice any other issues with the lessons. My main goal for this year is to make Artwork slideshows for each Artist. This will keep the links from changing, so they should always be accessible to you. As well as give us more control as to what the students view in class. I have been careful when choosing the Artwork links but from time to time these sites can change. We haven't had any accidental inappropriate viewings in classrooms but I have been contacted by volunteers or teachers a few times over the past couple years about sites that have put up an inappropriate picture. With slideshows of ...
