Volunteer Opportunities

EDUPRIZE students, parents, PTN and staff appreciate everything that our volunteers do.
That is what makes our school so great! Eduprize families are asked to volunteer 80 hours each year.

The Art Masterpiece Program allows our students to learn about artists, the elements of art and techniques to build their knowledge, creativity and art skills. It is a great program that the students look forward to participating in each year. This is a PTN sponsored program and runs solely on parent volunteers.

Volunteer Opportunities

Grade Level Coordinator
Help Coordinate teachers and parent volunteers for a single grade, this is especially important at the beginning of the school year. You would also review the lessons, inform me of any needed changes and submit new lessons for approval.

Teach for your child
Parent volunteers arrange with their child's teacher to teach art lessons in the classroom. All lessons are prepared, all supplies are provided and delivered. You don't need to be an artist yourself.

Teach for a needy teacher
Every year there are teachers who want to provide their students with the benefits of the Art Masterpiece Program but aren't able to find a parent volunteer to teach. Email me with the grades and # of classes you are willing to teach and I will match you up with a grateful teacher.

Donate
All supplies for the Art Masterpiece Program are provided by the PTN. We gratefully accept donations. This allows us to spend money on other needed or wish list items to give our students the best possible learning experience. Please visit the Supply Donations page for more information.

Friday Deliveries
All supplies are delivered to the classrooms the morning of the lesson. Friday's are especially busy as this is when teachers do their cottage work and the Art Masterpiece Program falls under that category. Volunteers helping with supply deliveries would meet me in the building 1 copy room 7-7:30am and would walk supply bins to classrooms. This typically takes about an hour.

Blog Beautification
I'm no computer expert but I'm proud to say that I was able to get the Art Masterpiece Site up and running. It has been a huge success and blessing to our volunteers. It is fully functional but I know it could be better. If you love sitting at your computer and know your way around google this is the job for you!

All time counts towards your volunteer hours.

Fun Facts

We are half way through the school year and it has been a great year so far! We have some excellent volunteers this year and I love working with all of you! I appreciate all you do for the Art Masterpiece Program , the teachers appreciate all you do in the classrooms and the students appreciate you most of all for just being there. Enjoy these fun facts!

-August started out strong with an amazing 17 lessons in our first month of school. August also had the least amount of lessons for the year, which isn't unusual, in past years most teachers didn't start Art Masterpiece until September.
-September had the most lessons of any month so far, 34.
-Mrs Espinoza's 1st grade class has had the most Art Masterpiece lessons of any class, 10.
-First Graders have had more Art Masterpiece lessons than the other grades, 43.
-Our wonderful volunteers Shannon Krenz and Holly Sadlon have taught the most Art Masterpiece Lessons this year.
-Oil pastels and watercolors are the most in demand…
2018-2019 School Year.
Welcome back everyone! I am super excited to be working with the Art Masterpiece program again this year and look forward to fun and successful year of art! Last year I took over the art program half way through the school year and I look forward to working closely on getting art into a majority of the classrooms again this year. If you are interested in volunteering to teach Art Masterpiece for your child’s classroom this year, please let your teacher know ASAP. I will be getting more information about the program, out to the teachers next week. If you are unsure of how the Art Masterpiece program works, feel free to email me @ Art4eduprize@gmail.com with any questions you may have and take a look around the blog at the available lesson plans. Updated information/rules on how to request art supplies will be posted soon as well as an update list of donation requests.
Thank you for all you do!

How The Art Masterpiece Program Works

Hello Volunteers,

I have had quite a few emails over the summer as to how the program works and don't want people to feel intimidated when making the decision to volunteer. It is a wonderful program that was written by the previous coordinator and we would like to keep it going as much as possible but need the help of our wonderful parents to do so.

The program works by having a volunteer (typically a parent in their own child's classroom) go in once a month (or as often as the teacher and parent agree) and teach a short lesson followed by a coordinating art project. The lessons are all written based around what is currently being taught in cottage and must be followed as these lessons go with the curriculum. ALL supplies as well as the lessons being taught, are supplied. As a volunteer you coordinate with your child's teacher to choose the appropriate lesson, let us know as soon as possible so we can add you to the calendar and get the supplies delivered to the classroom …
